Tea-Party Imbeciles Gave Us All A Black-Eye, And What To Do About It.

I’ve been wanting to write about all the hyperbole and hand-wringing about the Debt Ceiling falling down around our heads for some time now, but held off until deadlines had passed and the smoke began to clear out a bit. Well, that time has come, and i’m going to put in my two-cents worth. First off, like it or not, and I don’t, President Obama has to take some of the blame for this, mostly because he is the President, and ultimately the buck stops with him, but he should have seen this coming down the road since the last election, when the far-right lunatic fringe was able to frighten just enough of the gullible, mis-informed and angry voting public to send these completely clueless, un-moveable, ultra-conservative morons to Washington. These graduates of the Sarah Palin, Sharron Angle and Grover Norquist school of thinking originally ran on a platform of telling their equally asleep at the switch constituents that they would be going to Washington to get the economy moving and create jobs, jobs, jobs. Yet, not so surpringly, since they came into office nearly 7 months ago, they have not offered a single piece of Legislation aimed at what they claimed to be their top priority. But what they did do almost immediately was try and get their Kool-Aid laden punch-bowl filled with their skewered ideals and twisted morality pawned off onto the rest of us. Legislation to kill off Planned Parenthood, reduce womans access to health care, Gut the EPA, eliminate any semblance of fair play by trying to force a Marriage policy amendment into the Constitution that recognizes Marriage as only a union between a man and a woman, Religious intolerance, snipes at the Presidents racial make-up, the Birther-Conspiracy that actually gained some traction for a brief period, thanks mostly to that blathering gas-bag Donald Trump, and Continuing to attack Unions and their rights to collective barganing held sway instead. As the song says, M-N-O-P, I could go on all day…. I’m sure that with about 15 minutes of research, I could fill the entire blog with nothing but these ridiculous, expensive, time-consuming and utterly backwards wastes of the public and congress’ time by a small number of rigid imbeciles who really have no place in the public forum. What happened to all their blather about jobs? I can give you that answer instantly. To all of you clueless, Homer Simpson voters out there who fell headlong for these liars, I say, “You naive morons, it was NEVER about jobs! They knew that you Fox-News watching fools were gullible and stupid enough to be fooled into voting for them! You left the Barn Door wide open, and they marched right in, and did exactly what they had in mind from the very beginning, and that is to try and force their ultra-strict, far-right radical agendas upon as many people as possible.”  Some of you who unwittingly drank the Kool-Aid enjoyed it, and have, unfortunately become addicted to their brown-shirted, nonsensicle rantings. To those folks, I would have to say that you are a lost cause. Given the chance at being able to wean yourself from the Kool-Aid or a crack-addict kicking the habit, I’ll go with the crack-addict, i’m so convinced that you simply lack the intelligence for understanding, and have become nothing more than Lemmings. But you are still a small minority, and your ideals are certainly not what the majority of Americans believe in. But you have been able to create a lot of discourse and trouble for the rest of us. In order to overcome your ridiculous philosophies and move the Country forward, the rest of the public had better wake up and get informed and involved. But unless or until that happens, these far-right idealogues will continue to have much more sway over policies that affect the rest of us than they should. So, the rest of us share in the blame as well for being too damn apathetic.

And now, having said that, I’m ready to move on to the heart of the matter, which is where we, as a country, find ourselves today.

Simply put, the Republican Party has been, for all intensive purposes, hijacked by the far-right faction known as the Tea-Party, which in my previous blogs, have stated that todays Tea-Party has absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the one created in Boston, in 1773. Todays Tea-Baggers are so far removed from anything our Founding Fathers and it’s citizenry held dear as to be laughable. But as I just mentioned, enough moderate, reasonable voters sat out the last election, which emboldened and allowed this destructive political force to gain a foothold in Congress, particularly in the House of Representatives, which also lost it’s Democratic Majority as well. This set the stage for nothing short of all out war against anything that remotely resembled compromise or being reasonable. Their philosophy echoed the Republican Moniker of “HELL NO!” so eloquently spoken by John Boehner, except that their boot-heels are planted much deeper into the ground than almost any previous Congressional faction. Their unwillingness for compromise and penchant for dirty tricks and mudslinging have been well documented. Their Politics of refusing to negiotiate no matter what the potential cost, have, up until now, created more of a nuisense than anything else. But all that changed when, as expected, they held the Debt Ceiling hostage to their far-right demands for draconian cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, Social Security, other social programs that are the lifeblood for millions of Americans. These so-called champions of debt-reduction under the false guise of job creation created a weeks-long crisis that took us right to the edge of the cliff. The President did everything he could to try and get them to be reasonable and compromise, but how can you negotiate with a political faction who for weeks flatly stated there would be no compromise? They stated publicly that allowing the Debt Ceiling limit to be hit, and allowing the  Government to begin a massive shutdown and default of our countries Credit was not a big deal. People like Michelle Bachmann went on TV and proclaimed that she would never, ever negotiate to raise the Debt Ceiling, which up until now was considered a routine act for Congress going back to at least John Kennedy. As the clock ticked, and days went by and then turned to weeks, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and Eric Cantor were also chiming in on a daily, and sometimes hourly basis, literally goading the President and the Democrats, daring them to try and do something about it.  As the deadline got closer, World Financial Markets got spooked. The Republicans knew we were getting closer to crashing head first into the Debt Ceiling, and passed one ridiculous piece of garbage Legislation after another, trying to fool the gullible American public that they weren’t the ones to blame. What they really wanted, of course, was to gut the Social programs, and use those huge cuts to offset some of the Deficit, that was largely created for the benefit of Millionaires and Corporations. You know, the deficit that was largely created by Republicans, and some Democrats as well, from the George Bush 2001 and 2003 Tax Cuts? That same deficit that good ol’ Dick the War-Criminal-Cheney proudly proclaimed didn’t matter? The deficit George-also-a-War-Criminal Bush created when he gave us the gift of fighting 2 Wars and a Prescription Medicine Plan that went completely unfunded, along with those Tax-Cuts for the wealthy and Corporations. Yes, that deficit, that those very same Republicans now try and blame President Obama for. Always trying to rise above the fray, President Obama repeatedly went on TV, even holding a nationally televised speech on how important it was to try and be reasonable and compromise. He went on to explain the importance of having a balanced approach to deficit reduction and the Debt ceiling, which the Republicans linked together and were holding hostage to their ridiculous and dangerous game of non-compromise. To seriously consider a plan to reduce the deficit over the long-term, you have to have increases in revenues, as well as some cuts. A balanced approach. Being neither compromisers nor balanced, Republicans countered with the same stupid, Alfred E. Neumann, what-me-worry ? lines of bullshit. Holding what should have been a routine matter for Congrees, raising the Debt Ceiling hostage, created a self-made crisis that Credit Markets and Financial Groups that monitor and impose credit ratings for countries around the world, like Standard & Poor, said that the USA should not be holding the Debt Ceiling hostage, and that it could create a downgrade of our AAA+ Credit Rating, the World’s highest. Republicans again said, basically, tough shit. Kind of like what Jim Bunning, R-Kentucky said, when he held up passage of unemployment extension benefits for millions some months back. Nothing new for them.

So, after we were dragged to the edge of the cliff, a “compromise”, if you can call it that was reached. It creates some 22 Billion Dollars in cuts this year, and goes up the next few years after that. A commission of 6 Dems and 6 Repubs, with 3 of each from the House and Senate are supposed to come up with a “compromise” of reccommendations of further cuts and possible revenues for a vote by Thanksgiving. If a “compromise” isn’t reached, automatic cuts are supposed to kick in. Given the Republicans track record, I’d say were in deep shit. Then, after the smoke began to clear and the President signed the agreement which also raised the Debt Ceiling throught January 2013, it hit. The United States’ Credit Rating was downgraded from AAA+ to AA+by Standard & Poor. This is the first time in history this had ever happened to us. What do you think happened next? Of course, the Republican promptly blamed President Obama. His administration has appealed the desicion and says it is based on faulty figures. But S & P countered, saying the Political Brinksmanship and posturing, and using the debt ceiling as a hostage (by the Tea-Party faction) is more to blame than anything else. Here are some excepts from the report:

The political brinksmanship of recent months highlights what we see as America’s governance and policymaking becoming less stable, less effective, and less predictable than what we previously believed. The statutory debt ceiling and the threat of default have become political bargaining chips in the debate over fiscal policy.

[…]It appears that for now, new revenues have dropped down on the menu of policy options.

[…]The act contains no measures to raise taxes or otherwise enhance revenues, though the committee could recommend them.

[…]Compared with previous projections, our revised base case scenario now assumes that the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, due to expire by the end of 2012, remain in place. We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act.

Additionally, Standard & Poors indicates that they could improve their rating for the U.S. if “the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for high earners lapse from 2013 onwards, as the Administration is advocating.”

For me, the analogies of how do you compromise with someone who takes a hostage and is willing to kill them comes to mind. How do you reason with a drunk? How can you expect to have an intelligent conversation with a box of rocks?

Taking all this into account, anyone with any intelligence at all should be able to recognize that it is clearly the Republican Party, and their Tea-Party faction that is solely responsible for the downgrade in our stellar credit rating. They have clearly given all of us a Black Eye, which will take a long time, and prove difficult to heal. Had they not been voted into office, then this entire scenario would most likely have never happened. Given the fragile state of our Economy, this is the wrong time to be dealing with this self-made mess. It has taken the countries focus off of the most important thing of all, namely the staggering rate of unemployment or under-employment. We should have long-ago passed a Jobs Bill, Extended Unemployment insurance, especially for folks who have hit their own ceiling, the 99-ers. The Government, in my opinion, did not pass a strong enough Stimulus Bill. More spending during a bad economy by the Government is the only way to get out of this quagmire. Infrastructure and transportation projects should be sprouting up like weeds all over the country. But what did we get instead? Devisive, angry in-fighting, crazy, lunatic and nonsensical legislation about every crazy social moral ideal held by a faction of congress who would just as soon commit hari-kari then compromise and move the country forward. This has led to a total straight-jacketing of our elected officials, who would just as soon piss on your leg and try and convince you that it was raining.

At this point, i’m ready to rename the USA the State of Moronica, and let Moe, Larry, and Curly run things for a while. They couldn’t possibly do any worse.

We must hold these brutes accountable for their atrocious activities. Americans have seen clearly what happens when you don’t pay attention to your elected officials, and allow them to run roughshod all over the rest of us. President Obama did the best that he could under very difficult circumstances, but I still believe he has been too weak in the past, and given in too much to the Republicans. He should not be ashamed to be a Democrat, and to trumpet Democratic ideals and principles, and be willing to go the mat for the rest of us. This has been seen as a problem for Democrats for quite some time, that they are not strong enough when it comes to upholding their ideals.

America, you better wake up and vote these far-right imbeciles out of office, or else, just like when we elected that other buffoon, George Bush, you will get exactly what you voted for, and will continue to cause your own pain and misery. This is why we are exactly where we are today, because enough smart people did nothing, and the manipulators and liars have moved in.

‘Nuff said.

Happy Birthday, Mom

So, it’s June 28th. For most of us, it’s just another day. The July 4th holiday is right around the corner. School is out for summer recess. The trees are in full bloom, and it’s summertime once again. But for me, my brother and sister, it’s anything but just another day. June 28th is our mother, Jane’s Birthday. Celebrations, cookouts, cake, gifts, smiles, laughter. Tons of camera shots, video tape. Telling Stories. All the things one celebrates when you mom has her Birthday. Not this year, though. You see, my Mom passed away last January 27th, after battling Multiple Myeloma Cancer for over 6 years. She got diagnosed only a few months after she retired from a long career in Nursing, where she was a caregiver, friend and and empathetic ear to anyone who needed it. She developed really bad pneumonia that required hospitalization, which was very much out of the ordinary for mom. After lenghty testing, it was confirmed. We were all in shock. Not her. Things like this don’t happen to people like my mom. But unfortunately, they do. And it did. After losing my older brother, Jim, and my father, Bill, 9 months apart in 2000, you could have never convinced me that things could ever get any darker. But this, this was a black hole, the likes of which we all felt, at the time, just couldn’t be true. You know, you tell yourself those lies, and convince yourself that she really isn’t going to die. You fool yourself into believing the myth that maybe they’ll develop a new drug, or treatments that will keep her with us. As long as mom was alive, that was the lie I was sticking to. To have to believe the truth was just too painful. As the years went by, she seemed to be doing remarkably well. She underwent a stem-cell transplant, which was hell for her, but she told us she wanted to be here for as long as she could, and would be willing to undergo such a difficult, painful procedure. Basically, what they do, is harvest some of your blood cells and plasma. Sometimes they use a donor. Then, they put you into a special hospital ward, where they completely wipe out your immune system thru drugs and radiation. Then they put back your harvested stem cells, which they first try and cleanse of any cancer. From these cleansed cells, they try and rebuild your immune system back to life, hopefully free from cancer. It takes weeks and weeks of hospitalization. Your muscles atrophy. You lose your sense of smell and taste. Once you have a basic immune system, they send you to a rehabilitation hospital, to get your muscles to work again. For an entire year, you are on a strict diet. Once you can begin to get around on your own, they send you home. Before you can go home, your entire house has to be cleaned and literally sterilized to keep as many germs out as possible. Walls were re-painted. Furniture was thrown out and replaced. Guests were screened and visits limited for months. Hepa filters were used. Mom had to go to the hospital sometimes as many as 5 days a week for bloodwork and testing which never ended. And she never complained once about why this happened to her. I know she struggled with it. She was only human, it would have been impossible not to. We all did. And I want to thank my sister-in-law, Tammy, who bore the burden of care for my mother the entire time. You see, 20 years ago, we built mom a new house, right next door to the house she and my Father purchased in 1960. My brother bought that house, and so was literally 20 feet from her door. I had already moved to California, so all I could do was give support over the phone and Internet, and visit every chance I could afford to. Tammy was incredible. She knew every medication, every Doctor, every Nurse, literally everyone at the huge, sprawling Medical Facility. She took Mom to her visits, got her medications, and made sure she took her pills, nebulizer treatments, and watched her diet. Because of her selflessness, my mother recieved the best care that anyone could ever recieve. My sister and brother were also a great help. She ramained in remission for 18 months, not really a very long time. So, what did she do? She decided to undergo a second stem cell transplant. That’s right. She went thru that living hell a second time. She still felt that she wanted as much time as she could get. She felt that the quality of her life, as difficult as it was, was still better than giving up. We never tried to tell her what to do, it was totally her decision, and we told her we would support whatever she decided to do.

Last summer, 2010, she had a great time. She went to the beach, went shopping, enjoyed family and friends, and especially her grandchild, Sammy, my sisters son, who was all of 3 years old. She told me how badly she felt that she would be unable to see him get much older. I called my mom all the time, even if for only a few minutes. I still have her name and telephone number in my contacts list. I can’t bear to delete it.

Last November 13, while at work, I got a call from my sister-in-law. Mom was not doing well. In fact, her cancer cells had risen alarmingly fast. So fast, they were concerned she might not make it to Thanksgiving. Her doctor gave her a high dose of medications and chemotherapy, but said he didn’t know if it would work, and even if it did, that they were running out of options. The treatement worked, and Mom enjoyed what she knew would be her last Thanksgiving. She had never gone out for a Thanksgiving Dinner before, so my brother made reservations and took her out. I bought plane tickets, and went to see her for 2 full weeks in  December, spending one last Christmas with her. It was difficult for me financially, but I would have gone bankrupt, and sold my soul to the devil to be there. The weather in Central Massachusetts was horrendous. Snow storms and ice storms seemingly came 1 after the other. The day before I was to leave the entire northeast corridor was shut down. My flight was delayed 2 extra days, which I spent with Mom and my family. The last photo of us shows me with kneeling next to her, my arm around her head, while she is sitting in her favorite recliner. We are both smiling. During my visit, I was fortunate enough to have many discussions with her about all kinds of things, from Politics (she shared my same political ideals, and voted for Obama), to music, to reminiscing about the old days, to what is would be like for all of us when she was gone. They were difficult conversations sometimes, but I am thankful today that we had them. She cried only once while I was there visiting, and in an instant, my spirit sank, and heart fell out of my body and shattered on the floor in a billion pieces. Tears flowed, and I tried my best to console her. The morning I left, I promised her that I would return in the early spring for another visit. It was the only way I could fool myself into leaving. If I confronted the cold, hard truth, it would have been that this would be the last time in my lifetime, that I would ever see my mom alive. That terrible truth was painfully obvious, but I would have been a total, miserable, unconsolable wreck, and might not have left. After arriving home on New Years’ Eve, I drove the 2 1/2 hours to my home in Arkansas. I called Mom the next morning, and she greeted me with a cheerful Happy New Years Day…

Shortly afterward, a visit with her Doctor revealved what we already knew. namely, that they were out of options, and the cancer was advancing. Mom wanted to die at home, in her own bedroom, and not in the hospital. Hospice was called, and arrangements were made. I spoke to her using Skype as often as I could. Our very last conversation was on January 22nd. She was still able to get around in her wheelchair. Her brothers, sisters, and friends from many years came frequently to visit. My sister-in-law moved into the spare bedroom. As the month progressed, so did her cancer. Mom’s grandson, Nicholas, was due to get married on Jan. 29, and my Mom wanted to attend. Hospice made special arrangements for her travel. A few days after our last conversation, Mom began to sleep all the time. She barely woke at all. Every now and then she’d open her eyes for a minute or two, and then that was it. My family now was at her side nearly 24 hours around the clock, determined to be there when she passed. They set the computer up in her room for me one last time and went outside in the hallway, to give me some privacy. I cried like a baby, saying my goodbyes, and telling her how much she meant to me, and how much I was going to miss her. I couldn’t believe it had finally come to pass. I was inconsolable with grief. My wife held me close while I sobbed and sobbed. Finally, on Thursday evening, Jan. 27, at about 7:30 pm, Mom slipped the Earthly boundaries and passed on to be with all those who had gone on before her.

We all felt that Nicholas should continue with his wedding, which Mom would have wanted. My wife and I flew back to snowy Massachusetts to say our goodbyes. Mom’ s funeral was in a terrible snowstorm. The wiperblade iced up and broke off the windshield arm while I was in the funeral procession, and I had to make a mad dash out in the middle of a very busy road to grab it. I pulled off to side and fixed it, but lost sight of the procession. At the Cemetary, I slipped on a patch of ice, hidden under the snow, and fell flat on my back, nearly cracking my skull open. These were most definitely the worst days of my life. Dark, Cold, Miserable and unending sadness. 3 days later, I was back home and back at work. Winter evolved into Spring. Mothers’ Day and Memorial Day were difficult, and had an entirely different meaning this year.

One bright note is that my sister moved into my Mom’s house. She and her family will be able to make it their own, and Mom would approve. So now, as her birthday approaches, and all of the nearly 50 years of memories that I shared with her flood back to me, I, and my entire family, grieves over the loss of a wonderful, friendly, giving, loving, incredible woman, who never gave up hope, ever. The battles my mother endured were as tough and painful and as difficult as you would find in any War. As a matter of fact, it was War. She endured things that would have crushed most anyone. It was hell, just like War. For me, and my family, these are still difficult, painful days. I’m trying as hard as I can to work through it.

So now, I say, Happy Birthday, Mom. I Love You so very much, and I miss you more than any words could ever convey. No matter where you are, I carry your love, light, and spirit with me everyday, and will continue to do so until my last breath. I know I will see you when that glorious day arrives. May God Bless you and keep you safe.

President Obama and his Incredible Shrinking Balls

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, and for those of you who have been following me, my apologies. Family, work and life have taken their toll on my time, and occasionally, my sanity. But I am always connected to the news and politics irregardless of whether or not I blog.  Having said that, I’d like to write about a recurring theme concerning our President. As someone who followed his campaign, paid close attention to his many speeches, and voted for him, I must admit at this point i’m not particularly pleased with what he has been doing lately. I don’t consider myself to be far-left, maybe more slightly left of center, and as a registered Independent Voter my whole life, have no party affiliations, and have voted on both sides of the political isle. But I feel that those of us who had hoped that we finally found a Democrat with some “chutzpah”, I am slowly losing faith that Mr. Obama is just too damn easy on giving in to the Republicans demands. I get the feeling he is becoming more about group hugs and singing Cumbaya around the campfire, than he is about drawing a line in the sand, and using his considerable  intellectual prowess to beat the Republicans at their own game. Frankly, i’m tired of hearing the Republicans and their cry-baby leader Boehner whining about the fiscal sky falling on our heads. It’s hilarious to watch these bufoons goose-stepping up to the microphones and spew all this doomsday nonsense about the budget. Do we need to get our fiscal house in order? Hell yeah we do. But it’s all in the details that’s got me aggravated. The Republican Party can barely spell fiscal conservative, let alone actually think they even have the slightest idea as to what one is. It never ceases to amaze me that they, along with their former fearless leader, George W. Bush, were  almost solely responsible for the deficit we are now faced with.  I had previously blogged about this here in an article called “Republicans Running on Fiscal Responsibility?” These guys are a joke. Hipocrites, Liars, Masters of Spin to anyone gullible and uninformed. Usually these folks can be found watching Fox News.

But my problem lately is that President Obama seems to have lost his conviction. He is fast becoming a middle-of-the-road Democrat, and if he doesn’t do something about it soon, may veer completely off the road and head straight for the ditch. What the hell happened to his balls? What, too many cold showers? For Christ’s Sake (and ours) would you please stop kissing the Republican’s asses and grow a pair? How stupid of you to make Budget cuts targeting reductions in heating assistance for low and fixed income households. And Pell Grants for college Students. Really? You honestly think it’s a good idea to cut those programs? The Republicans also want to eliminate money that’s used to secure loose Nuke materials in other countries, dismantle or at least hog-tie the EPA, eliminate National Public Radio, and eliminate the Dept. of Education. This is how we reduce our deficits, on the backs of these folks? Instead of cutting the over-bloated Defense Budget, you gave them an additional 22 Billion Dollars. Do we really still need all those troops and military bases all over the world? Germany and Japan come to mind. World War 2 ended in 1945, 66 years ago. Why are we still there? Why do we continue to give billions in tax breaks for Big Oil  and Agricultural Conglomerates like Archer-Daniels-Midland? Why do these companies need any assistance at all? This is madness. No wonder we’re broke. Yes, by all means, let’s continue down this path, better known as the  Republican Doctrine. And while you’re at it,  Mr. President, just continue to stay silent on what’s been happening up in Winsconsin. Go ahead and ignore the fact that the Republican Governor is trying to dismantle the unions and their collective-barganing rights. The right to bargain in good faith. Remember the Unions, they tend to vote overwhelmingly Democratic. As a matter of fact, that’s exactly what helped to propel you into the very office you now hold. Well, if the Republican Govenor up there can start weakening them, this will help the Republican Party to gain even more power. You gave in on the damn Bush Tax Cuts, too, instead of making them out to be the party of the rich and connected, which they are. You never fought for the public option with your Healthcare bill, either. Now you’re letting them steal the show with regards to all the lies about how bad Social Security is, even though it’s completely sound thru the year 2037, and has it’s own tax base we all pay into every week. Again, let’s go after the folks who need that program to survive, namely older Americans and the diabled. Right-wing nutjobs like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman are attacking your wife over breast-milk pump tax credits. How incredibly stupid is that? And what’s with all the Republicans talking up Ronald Reagan lately? Before you know it, they’ll be bringing up legislation to nominate him for Sainthood. I remember Reagan, and other than putting the Russians in their place, he was an asshole. Ran up our deficit 189%, started all that trickle-down economic bullshit, and totally screwed middle-class Americans. But go ahead, sit there like a dumb-ass and play footsie with the Republicans. Not only will they continue to stick it to you every chance they get, but the rest of us won’t forget it either, and we’ll all remember when we show up, or don’t, at the Voting Booth. With all respect, Mr. President, you really need to stop being seen as so weak. Stand up for something, hammer the damn Republicans, and show how their bad politics have screwed the average American for years, leading up to where we are today. If you don’t, we’ll look for leadership elsewhere. The clock is ticking.    ‘Nuff said.

This Tea-Party is Nothing like 1773.

On December 16, 1773, a group of fired-up colonists in Boston went down to Griffins Wharf, boarded 3 Vessels, and spent the next 3 hours tossing 342 chests of British Tea overboard into The Atlantic Ocean. There were anywhere from 30 to 130 men involved, some disguised as Mohawk Indians. Part of the reason for the Tea-Party dumping was due to the fact that the colonists had no representation in the British Parliment, which felt it wasn’t neccessary because they “owned” the Colonies, and could levy whatever duties and taxes it wanted. It was a little more complicated than that, as it always is, but that’s the summary of what happened.

Can someone please tell me how this has any relationship to the so-called “Tea-Party” following?

Having grown up in Massachusetts, I have a hard time believing the good citizens of Boston, circa 1773 would be happy that that some 237 years later, their heroic act of defiance against the British  would be hijacked by an almost exclusively white, male, right-wing off-shoot of what we would call  Conservative Republicans. Now, let’s give these folks their due. They would tell you it’s not all white people. That’s true. Only about 89% are white. And yes, they aren’t all racists, or calling for violence or the overthrow of our duly elected officials. But here is where I part ways with these people. The problem, as I see it, is that the Tea-Party has been acting as a magnet, attracting idealogue extremists of all kinds, who set-up shop under their umbrella.  This of course is the classic turn-your-head, tacit-approval that I’m speaking of. While on the one hand they claim to be a non-discriminitory party, they allow the unhinged-fringe to set up shop at their gatherings. There is no way to have any dialogue or reasonable debate with these dangerous loose-cannons. Some are rooted in racism against our president, others in religious or lifestyle racism. Their back-wards and often angry outbursts are seen everyday on the news. And to be fair, these types of people have been around at least since the original Tea-Party. Unfortunately, many of these far-right lunatics become emboldened and feel that their un-hinged, often violent rhetoric is justified, thru the likes of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.

Recently, I spoke with a couple of people who were proud Tea-Party members. They claimed their party is made up of hard-working, decent Americans who, among other things, are fed-up with all the money the Government is spending. They claim they are not racist, are inclusive of others, and that there are other people besides just white folks who are members.  They went on to say that it takes a lot of courage for black members to join, so some of them don’t want to be seen in public for fear of being attacked, either verbally or physically. One member even tried to tell me that during the Tea-Party rally in Washington, D.C. last March, there were 1.2 to 2 million people in attendance, including himself. He went on to claim the BBC took photos from the air proving there were at least a million people in attendance, and that it was purposely being downplayed by the mainstream media. After some research of my own, I found Boston University professor and crowd estimate expert (yes, they actually have those!) Farouk El-Baz, who estimated peak attendance at 75,000. Figures for the Metro train ridership that day show 87,000 more riders than average.  There were also reports that NO aerial photos were taken, and that the ones shown were of different rallies. Additional research by me could not find any aerial photos as well. I asked him what his ethnicity was, and he was, hold-on, here it comes, a white male! Big surprise….He then went on to say he met 15 blacks, 11 hispanics and 5 Gay people. (Not sure how he knew they were gay, unless they were carrying signs or kissing in public). Sort of reminded me of Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of the Interior, James Watt. Remember what he said about the diversity of  his staff ?   “We have a black, 2 cripples and a Jew”. I said wow, out of the millions of people you claim were there, including you, and you met only 31 people of other ethnic backgrounds or lifestyles ? That’s your proof of being inclusive?

So, after listening to them, this was my response: I said that if the Tea-Party wants to have any semblance of respect, or believe that what they say has even a morsel of truth to it, then they need to come out publicly with a document or statement, that basically says they denounce all forms of racial intolerance, whether it’s skin prejudice, intolerance of religious or other lifestyle choices. They should say that any extremist views towards that end, or advocating violence are not welcome, and should be made to leave if they show up. They should ask for all people of all backgrounds who believe in their ideals to join. They should publicly ask that all members respect their duly elected President, even if they disagree with his policies. They should state that all Americans are equal, and must be afforded the same respect and rights. Otherwise they will continue to be on the outer fringes of politics, and will be seen as nothing more than a mob of angry, sore losers. This is the only way they would be seen as more inclusive of all Americans.

Want to know what their response was?

-“We don’t need to comply with any affirmative action rules.”                 Huh?

Doesn’t that say it all?  I rest my case.

Former Policymakers Admit GOP Ruined Economy

I find it interesting that 2 former Republican Policymakers finally had a “light-bulb” moment, and admitted what many of us knew already- namely, that it was The Republican Party, it’s Presidents and Policymakers who are responsible for the economic and fiscal disaster we have been put into. I speak of former Fed-Chief Alan Greenspan and David Stockton, former Office of  Management and Budget under Ronald Reagan. First, Mr. Greenspan. On NBC’s “Meet The Press”,  he went into detail about comments he had made earlier with PBS’s Judy Woodruff. “I’m very much in favor of tax cuts but not with borrowed money and the problem that we have gotten into in recent years is spending programs with borrowed money, tax cuts with borrowed money,” he said. “And at the end of the day that proves disastrous. My view is I don’t think we can play subtle policy here.” This is Mr. Greenspans response to the much-hyped Conservative Republican lie that tax-cuts, essentially for the wealthiest families in America, would pay for themselves by generating revenues and creating productivity. Mr. Greenspan, who was the previous Fed-Chairman for 18 years, continued, saying  the push by congressional Republicans to extend the Bush tax cuts without offsetting the costs elsewhere could end up being “disastrous” for the economy. In my previous post I had spoken about the Republicans ridiculous claims of being fiscally responsible, and it seems that my assumptions were, in fact, correct.

I work really hard to try and present the facts as they are, not as I’d like them to be. And, yes, I do personalize them with my own sayings and feelings about how much others, typically Republicans, Conservatives, Tea-Party folks, etc. would have you believe their twisted, spun, edited comments are the real truth.  But hey, it’s my Blog, and I tell it like it is. Look, anyone who regularly watches Fox Noise and it’s smearing, racist, lying opinions disguised as actual news already has no basis in reality, so it’s not difficult for them to continually saddle-up to the trough for another drink of the Kool-Aid. I’ll have more to say about that in my next blog. I’m glad Mr. Greenspan has decided to speak out about this looming deficit disaster now. I only hope that this battle becomes fully engaged by the Democrats, and that they are able to stay on message about this, and convince the majority of Americans that allowing the wealthiest Americans to return to the Clinton-era tax bracket, which for them would amount to a very-small 3% increase, would be the fiscally correct thing to do. For the Republicans to continually squak about the deficit, over and over like a broken record, then use that as a ruse to stall and hold congress for weeks from passing a much-needed lifeline of  unemployement benefits for the middle-class, is political posturing at it’s worst. But in the bizarro-world that they operate in, they spout flat-out lies that allowing these budget busting tax breaks to expire will hurt the economy and job creation. I say Bullshit, and anyone who has paid any attention at all to this would come to the same conclusion. Frankly, I’m fed up with the rich folks getting special treatment, while the rest of us just get the shaft. Mr. Greenspans assumptions are not conjecture or wild-guesses. His prognosis for continued slow-growth and anemic job gains are based in fact, unlike the Republicans, who are still living in some Alice in Wonderland fantasy, where simply because they say it, and Fox noise cheerleads it, it’s so. They refuse to see the Brontosaurus stomping around the room, even when people affiliated with their own party, tell them that, yes, this gargantuan tax break for the wealthy is a bad idea.

And in another moment of clarity, Mr. David Stockman, who was President Ronald Reagans Director of Office and Budget Management, has written an Op-Ed piece in The New York Times condemning the Republican Party and proving that they are responsible for ruining our economy with bad policy and mis-management going back to the Nixon administration. His article, called “Four Deformations of the Apocalypse” goes into detail explaining exactly how the Republicans have made a complete mockery of their own ideals. Furthermore, Mr. Stockton proves how the modern Republican Party has been responsible for, and turning a blind-eye to, 4 deformations of the national economy that have nearly ruined us. Below, I am going to excerpt some of his remarks, but I encourage anyone reading this to follow this link and read it in it’s entirety.  Here it is: www.nytimes.com/08/08/2010/opinion/01stockman.html

Mr. Stockman asserts that “If there were such a thing as Chapter 11 for politicians, the Republican push to extend the unaffordable Bush tax cuts would amount to a bankruptcy filing. The nation’s public debt — if honestly reckoned to include municipal bonds and the $7 trillion of new deficits baked into the cake through 2015 — will soon reach $18 trillion.” he goes on to explain that Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky)siren call claiming that the wealthiest Americans cannot afford a modest 3% increase by allowing the Tax cuts to expire as “unseemly.” Continuing his assertions of Mr. McConnell, he says because of his stand, “Mr. McConnell puts the lie to the Republican pretense that its new monetarist and supply-side doctrines are rooted in its traditional financial philosophy.” He continues, spealing about what the Republican Party once was all about, but sadly, is no more. ” Republicans used to believe that prosperity depended upon the regular balancing of accounts — in government, in international trade, on the ledgers of central banks and in the financial affairs of private households and businesses, too. But the new catechism, as practiced by Republican policymakers for decades now, has amounted to little more than money printing and deficit finance.” These have made a “mockery” of tradional Republican ideals, and led to both the Wall Street and other institutional financial meltdowns.

This has roots dating to 1971, when President Nixon was persuaded by Milton Friedman to take the U.S. off the Gold-Standard, defaulting on the 1944 Bretton Woods agreement for us to balance our accounts with the world. Once relieved of the need for fixed monetary exchanges, the rest of the worlds leaders were also now free to cheapen their monies and disregard their neighbors as such. Over time, this has balloned the U.S.’s “current cumulative combined shortfall on our trade in goods, services and income — to  nearly $8 trillion. That’s borrowed prosperity on an epic scale.”

Furthermore, he puts the blame squarely in Republican’s lap, stating “The second unhappy change in the American economy has been the extraordinary growth of our public debt. In 1970 it was just 40 percent of gross domestic product, or about $425 billion. When it reaches $18 trillion, it will be 40 times greater than in 1970. This debt explosion has resulted not from big spending by the Democrats, but instead the Republican Party’s embrace, about three decades ago, of the insidious doctrine that deficits don’t matter if they result from tax cuts.” We all remember Dick Cheney chanting this during the Bush Administration. Other problems soley created by Republicans were: 1.) “.”The delusion that the economy will outgrow the deficit if plied with enough tax cuts.”  2.) “The vast, unproductive expansion of our financial sector. Here, Republicans have been oblivious to the grave danger of flooding financial markets with freely printed money and, at the same time, removing traditional restrictions on leverage and speculation.” This is what happened on Wall Street and with the Banks, which could have never survived this if the Fed hadn’t given them discounted money and Fed guarantees to cover their bad bets, so they felt no need to avoid bad risk and speculation.

Finally, since George Bush took office, real income for Americans declined an average of $2200.00 per year. High-value jobs in technology and information declined as well, from 77 million to 68 million, or about 12%. But, to Mr. Bush’s credit, we had a gain in low-paying, mostly part-time positions in bars, nursing homes and hotels. Kudos to you, Georgie boy!

So, if you’re still with me here, to wrap this all up for you, Mr. Stockton  says “It is not surprising, then, that during the last bubble (from 2002 to 2006) the top 1 percent of Americans — paid mainly from the Wall Street casino — received two-thirds of the gain in national income, while the bottom 90 percent — mainly dependent on Main Street’s shrinking economy — got only 12 percent. This growing wealth gap is not the market’s fault. It’s the decaying fruit of bad economic policy.”  Republican Policy……

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist, or an economist, or a Fed-Chief to realize what has happened to our economy. The Republicans would be happy to keep you fearful of the present administration, and ignorant or mindlessly forgetful of the previous one. The Grand Obstructionist Party has nothing new to offer us, except old, backwards ways of thinking and doing. And the fact that people such as Alan Greenspan and David Stockton have both come out and stated that the Republican ideas of un-paid tax cuts to the wealthy, cumulative poor policies by Republican administrations, and continued, fantastical, pie-in-the-sky claims of fiscal responsibility have ruined our economy and wreaked havoc with our financial sector, allowing big business and the wealthy to manipulate and steal not only our money(yours, mine & ours), but good, high-paying jobs, which in turn has lead to a loss of stability, security and a good standard of living for you and your families.

So, what to do? I guess the simpilest answer would be to choke the life out the Republican Party with their own bad medicine. Hold them accountable for their own fraudulent actions, that hurt all of us. Get angry. Get involved. Register to vote. Talk to your neighbors. Get informed. Don’t let them try and fool you. Last, but most importantly,Vote them out, Vote Them Out, VOTE THEM OUT!!!

Republicans Running on Fiscal Responsibility?–Please Do!!

It’s been a while since I last blogged on here, and a lot of stuff has happened in my life, including moving from Cape Cod to Northeast Arkansas. More about that in another blog, but Hello! and thanks for taking the time to read my blog. If you’re not familiar with me, I’ve been a registered Independent voter my whole life, and have voted on both sides of the Political isle. However, I am proud of the fact that I have never, ever, voted for any Bush for any reason.

I’ve spent a lot of time trying to keep up with what goes on politically in our country, because whether you take an interest in politics or not, it affects all of us. I don’t align myself with any party, I’m interested only in what I feel is best for our people and our country. I have had an interest in this my whole life (I’m 49 years old this year) and remember all way back to President Johnson. When the Watergate Scandal erupted, I remember coming home from Jr. High school, and, instead of going outside to play with my friends, I  turned on my cassette recorder, and watched and recorded the hearings on National TV, listening to them again at night, up in my room. But so much has changed since then, and, no, i’m not stuck in the past. I believe that things must continue to improve and move forward. Our elected government, and I mean the House, and more particularly the Senate,  is in terrible shape, and it’s their own blind-sided narcissism that has gotten them to this point. I speak mostly of the Republican Party, and they have been the poster boys for obstructionist, fear-based manipulation of the worst kind. The fact that they twist, spin, and flat-out lie to the American public, while being supported by the likes of Fox” News”, which in turn gives us sewer-mouthed, ranting-racist liars like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I can’t believe how many people actually believe the filth and racist stuff that gets put out there continually by these purveyors of fear and smear. It’s  all I can do to keep my blood pressure from going through the roof, listening to such trash. But I need to keep reminding myself that there are, hopefully, many more like-minded people such as myself, who know and understand what the right-wing extremists are all about, and we need to keep fighting the good fight, proving their lies and spin are wrong, and calling them out for exactly what they are, fear-based liars who want to bring this country backward to the days when white men ruled the country, and minorities were just that, minorities who had no real say in anything. The moderate-Republicans have been forced out by Tea-Party and other right-wing fringe groups. Others have been forced to drink the Kool-Aid if they wish to keep their jobs. A perfect example would be John McCain. Because of his extremist challenger, J.D. Hayworth,  he has flip-flopped around more times on issues than a fish pulled from the water and dropped on the ground. Fortunately for Mr. McCain, he may squeak by, due to J.D.’s stupidity. In 2007, he videotaped an appearance as a paid spokesperson for Florida-based National Grants Conferences, telling people how they could get “free money” grants from the Federal Government. In addition,  this company had been given an “F” Rating from the BBB.  Hayworth was rightly called out for his poor lack of judgement and integrity, which I hope remind Arizonan’s that perhaps he is not the best candidate for them.

Having said that, I get to the crux of my Headline- “Republicans Running on Fiscal Responsibility?–Please Do!! Now, anyone with any sense at all should realize that is complete nonsense. When you look back at the Administrations of our Presidents going back to Jimmy Carter, here’s what you’ll find in regards to how well Democrats versus Republicans have increased our National Debt :

Jimmy Carter – Democrat- 42% ;

Ronald Reagan- Republican- a Whopping 189%- Yes, this no error, from 994 Billion to 2.8 Trillion!!

George H.W. Bush- Republican- 55%

Bill Clinton- Democrat- 36%- AND left us with a $200 Billion Dollar Surplus!!

George W. Bush- Republican-  a Whopping 89%!! AND he took our $200 Billion-Dollar surplus and gave us a 3.8 Trillion Dollar Deficit.

And, let’s not forget all the wonderful presents this President left us with: 2 Wars, put totally on Uncle-Sam’s Credit Card that you and I pay for. Thousands of our finest men and woman killed, many more wounded and in distress;  The Bush Tax cuts in 2001 & 2003 that went directly to the top 2% of the Wealthiest Americans and were defecit-spent, NOT paid for;  9/11 happened on HIS WATCH!! You have to put this on him. He and his administrations inattention to National Security matters allowed this to happen–There are NO excuses for this lapse in security, which caused the deaths of nearly 3,000 innocent Americans. People who simply got up that morning, and boarded Airplanes, or went to work. As if all of that weren’t enough, we got broadsided with the worst economic disaster in 80 years, with millions of lost jobs, the highest unemployment in modern times, which was compounded with the Real Estate crash. Wall St nearly imploded, The Auto industry fell into shambles. Our Government then had to prop all these Industries up to keep us from all going over the cliff, resulting in even more massive spending. I’m just mentioning the tip of the iceberg here, folks. But I find it fascinating, that during George Bushes 8 years, the Republicans never once worried about being fiscally responsible. How is it that they feel they have been good stewards of our economy, and so have earned the right to be in the majority?? How is it possible that people could have such short memories?

Now, after they got their asses whipped during  the election of 2008, all of a sudden their deficit-hawks?? It was Okay then but not now?? How is that possible??

Clearly, now that the Republicans are in the minority, and rightly so, they have adopted a policy of turning the Democrats, and President Obama into the bad guys. According to them, everything was going along swimmingly until Jan 20, 2009. I’m sorry, but I hold George Bush and his entire inept administration completely responsible for the terrible predicament we find ourselves in. I also have to blame the American people, at least the ones who were foolish enough, or who were just plain tricked or scared into voting for George Bush not once, but twice. When he was re-elected in 2004, I said to anyone who would listen,  that the American people would get what they deserved by electing this arrogant buffoon, and that we were in big trouble. Boy, I wish I had been wrong on that, but I wasn’t.

So, our friends the Deficit-Hawk Republicans now want to stop all deficit spending, especially when it comes to extending unemployment benefits to the millions of Americans who lost their jobs, and many more who lost everything, because it would cost 34 Billion Dollars. Nope, we’re not helping anyone out no matter how protracted this economic depression has become. Even though it was our Republican President and his inept leadership that created this mess. Tough-shit for you,  just like Jim Bunning-Republican-KY, was heard to say. Really, do you need another reason to believe that the Republicans couldn’t give a rats-ass about what happens to you and your family? They stuck it to us lazy, good-for-nothing lay-abouts. After all, the unemployed are lazy, and don’t really want to work. There are jobs out there, but we won’t take them.  Did you read Ben Stein’s article, where he basically says that, except for a few instances, the unemployed are lazy, stupid people who were weeded-out for being “dead-wood” for their employers, and simply don’t know how to do a day’s work?  But, when it comes to their rich friends, hey, no problem.

What do I mean by that?

In one example, what I mean is this, the Republicans want to extend the Bush Tax cuts permanently for the Wealthy, to the tune of about $678 Billion Dollars.

Yup, you heard it right. $678 Billion Dollars in tax cuts for the rich, paid for by all the rest of us lazy lay-abouts. Over the course of 10 years, it’s about a $2.3 Trillion-Dollar hit.  Then they had the balls to say they wouldn’t cost anything!! Yup, this tax is free!!  Why? because the rich people will spend this money on creating jobs. But a Republican President, George H.W. Bush even gave this type of tax-break scheme a name–Voodoo Economics. In April, 1980, as a Presidential Candidate, he called out Ronald Reagan’s fallacy that tax-cuts for the wealthy, paid for by the rest of us, would expand growth and pay for themselves. He rightly claimed that this was nothing more than Voodoo Economics, and would actually exacerbate the deficit, and create no jobs or help the middle-class in any way. But Reagan was elected, and enacted his “trickle-down economics”. Remember that?  Here’s a President who increased our national debt by 189%, and spent more money than all the other Presidents before him combined, but made schools all across the country classify ketchup as a vegetable dish in children’s school lunches, instead of giving them an actual serving of vegetables. Guess we were unable to afford both ICBM’s and vegetables. George W. Bush’s own father knew that was bullshit. Given the fact that ol Georgie was too arrogant to listen to anybody, it’s no surprise he ignored what his father had said 20 years earlier. Look, anyone out there who is delusional enough to believe this lie should have a frontal lobotomy. What a pathetic bunch of assholes.

Republicans have also called for the elimination of the Estate and Gifts Tax, enacted as part of the 1916 Revenue Act, which they are now calling the “Death Tax” (much like their use of the phrase death panels in the healthcare debate, designed to frighten you).  This was originally spearheaded by Republican Theodore Roosevelt back in 1906, who was well aware of the inequities of the rich and powerful over everyone else. Yes, our deficit-hawk friends, who really care about us, want us lazy middle-class layabouts to absorb another $1.1 Trillion in debt, so they can take care of their rich, well-connected friends. For example, according to Bernie Sanders, Democrat- VT-, The Walton family, who owns Wal-Mart, are worth about $86 Billion Dollars. If they did not have to pay an Estate Tax, they would get a $32.7 Billion Dollar Tax break.

So, apparently the Republicans have no problem with giving one very wealthy family a $32 Billion Dollar tax break, but No, Tough-Shit for the 2 million unemployed families who need a continuance of unemployement benefits to feed and house themselves and their families.  We can’t spend $34 Billion for them.

Do you see what I’m getting at here? The sheer hipocrasy of the Republicans?

I hope they continue to be Deficit-Hawks. As a matter of fact, I’d like to see them pledge, on paper and in front the American people, that they will refuse to spend a single dime if it’s not paid for.

Of course, both Wars, Defense spending, and a entire host of programs will have to be stopped Immediately!!

I’m cautiously optimistic that enough good people in this country will not be lied and scared into voting to give the same folks who got us into this mess another shot at things. Then again, they did give 2 terms to Mr. Bush.

Maybe I am a little scared. You should be, too. We need to be relentless in getting the message out there, namely that Republicans have no moral standing when it comes to being fiscally responsible. We need to get people motivated and fired up. The American people should be outraged at the despicable treatment of the middle-class by nearly the entire Republican Party, who use the guise of being for the regular-guy while actually being in the pockets of  Mr. Big, as in, Big- Oil, Big- Business, Big- Insurance, etc.  The Democrats have not been forceful enough, and need to get out there, to show the American people all the good works they have done on their behalf. They need to continually push their message that Government is not against them, that this is their Government, the people’s Government, not some huge big-brother machine out to get them and take their liberties away.  The Republicans have never, ever been for smaller government. They have had many years as the majority in power and did nothing to prove that to be true. Their level of hipocrasy is just incredible.  Democrats need to be continually on the attack with proof.  They can succeed by simply hanging the Republicans with their own words and actions. Calling out  liars and extremists, whether it’s racist Tea-Party members, idiots and agitators like Andrew Breitbart, or right-wing cheerleaders Fox News.

The Republicans are trying to convince  fool you that they are fiscally conservative.  In a nutshell, They’d have you believe that shit is colored orange, just like the sky. Good Luck with that one.

Well, I’ve said enough for now, although this is something I could continue to write about for hours on end. I’m so fuckin pissed off at these guys it isn’t funny. I hate liars and fear-mongers.

Is this really where we want to be in the year 2010?

Violence and Ignorance, The Republican’s Moniker

Well, it’s been a while since I last blogged here, but what can I say, life happens…of course, lots of things change, but unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your slant on things recently, the Republicans and their cronies are sadly, still spewing out the same hate, fear, ignorance and mis-information about the newly-minted Health Care Reform Bill signed into law by President Obama yesterday, 3/23/2010. Honestly, when are those guys gonna stop their all-or-nothing tactics and try to work together with the rest of the crowd? The Democrats have finally gotten their proverbial act together just long enough to get this done, and it’s my opinion that we’ll all be the better for it. Bart Simpson, er, Stupak, stomped his feet and held firm and got what? Nothing that was not already plainly stated, that the Gov’t won’t fund abortions. Brilliant. The Government and everyone else needs to stay out of any decision involving a woman’s uterus. This includes you, Sarah Palin.

Yes, the bill and it’s programs are massive and far reaching. Yes, those of you on the left believe it doesn’t do enough. Yes, those of you on the right, (no one reading this, though) think it’s too much. In a country as diverse and large as this, there’s no way it’s gonna please everyone. But, I believe it’s a good, positive start to the United States finally becoming a nation where access and affordable health care are a right for all Americans. As for the illegals here, sorry, this should be limited to card carrying members of the USA only. Having said that, we need serious debate and discussion on that huge Elephant in the room as well.  I just don’t think it’s right to give benefits to folks who shouldn’t be here in the first place. I’m sorry, but just because you jumped the fence, rowed the boat or came into this country hiding in the trunk of an 86 Chrysler doesn’t entitle you to anything, period. This is our country, and we as a nation have every right to set up our laws and policies to our benefit, no yours. I do believe, however, that we need to have an effective, proper way for people who wish to become legal, taxpaying, law-abiding citzens to be able to do so within a reasonable period of time. I know, good luck on that….But, that’s another blog for another time. Back to what I was originally speaking about, those nasty, mostly right-wing nut-jobs, and the politicians who love them. I expect bullshit and heated rhetoric to come from squaking mouthpieces like John Boehner and Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell. That’s what they do best. And of course sub-humans like that Big-Fat-Gas Bag-turned Oxycontin-addicted-Asswipe( or B.F.G.T.O.A.A.)Rush Limbaugh and that totally Demented Glenn Beck, and all the other lying manipulators out there are turning up their anger, racist filled speeches to continue stoking the fires of racism and hate to all-time levels. Does it make me angry? You bet your ass it does!! The things i’d like to see happen with some of these folks is downright mideval.

But i’ll tell you this. It’s getting really ugly out there, and we better nip this in the bud, right now! I have stated all along that people with fervent right wing beliefs are angry, violent, mean-spirited thugs who thrive on fear, ignorance, racism and intimidation, and I have posted just a very small sample of why this is true.

Here’s just some of what’s been reported:

  • At least 5 incidents of some ignoramus throwing rocks or bricks, some with messages, thru the windows of some Democratic Offices in Niagra Falls and Rochester, New York- In Whichita, Kansas- In Tuscon, Arizona and in Pleasant Ridge, Ohio. An Ex- Militia extremist by the name of Mike Vanderboegh, from Pinson, Alabama, who writes a blog on the Sipsey Street Irregulars has come forward to say that he was responsible for a blog in which he incites violence and destruction by telling people to go and smash windows, all across the country, at the offices of Democrats who voted for Health Care reform.
  • Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) received a telephone call to her offices in which the caller states that the children of those who voted for HealthCare would be assasinated.
  • Virginia Rep Tom Perrillo (Dem) had his brother’s home address published on-line by Lynchburg Tea Party Organizer Mike Troxel. Troxel mistakenly put out Mr. Perrillo’s brother’s address, believing it was actually Rep. Perillo’s address. He then incited folks to stop by and get close to Mr. Perillo to show them their feelings on his vote for Health Care Reform. Well, someone went to the address posted by Mr. Troxel and slashed the supply line from the large propane gas tank that was in the yard. Another Tea Party Asshole from Danville, Va., Nigel Coleman also published the address. When contacted by authorites about the incident, Coleman was stupid enough to actually try and act surprised, stating “I obviously condemn these actions,” he said. “I would hope that people aren’t thinking about doing anything crazy. We just wanted people to get close to the congressman and have their voices heard. Violence is not going to answer anything. I’m a little shocked and amazed.” You’ve got to be kidding me. You incite people to go directly to someone’s home and confront them, publish their address, and when someone takes you up on, act surprised? You’re a fucking liar. You knew damn well what you were doing. What, you think we’re all dumb-ass ignorant assholes like you?
  • And, lest we forget, B.F.G.T.O.A.A. Limbaugh, stated that folks who voted for Health Care Reform should be chased from office and wiped-out.
  • Members of Congress, including Bart Stupak and Louise Slaughter, have received death threats via e-mail and telephone. At least 10 members of Congress now have increased security with them and at their homes.
  • Finally, in the doesn’t surprise-me-one-bit category, Pathalogical Liar Sarah Palin went on Twitter to say that her Conservative-minded followers should not get discouraged, but should instead RELOAD, and fire everyone who voted for Health Care Reform. She then asked people to see her Facebook Page, in which she posted a map of the US, and put Rifle Target Bulls-eyes over the cities in which she claims  she and John McCain carried in the 08 Election.

The only thing I’m going to state here is the obvious. These right wingers need to be dealt with immediately, or sometime, someplace, someone is going to get killed or injured by some extremist lunatic. Inciting violence, and feigning you’re shocked when it does should land you in serious legal trouble and/or prison. Right wing extremists are often ignorant, uninformed, racist, angry people. Part of a new poll out there actually has 24% of acknowledged Republicans stating Obama may be the anti-christ, and 33% believe he’s doing things Hitler did. This simply reaffirms the obvious about my statements as to their intelligence levels. All of this stems from Republicans who have fanned the flames. They need to be held accountable and must reap what they have sown. At present, their calls for an end to violence has been a day late and a dollar short. Unfortunately, this is nothing new.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you……”Nuff said for now.
